TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

REPORTS TO:
Worship & Production Pastor 

KEY ROLE: 
The Tech Director serves a very important role in representing OURChurch to both the congregation and the community. This role serves as the chief audio expert and primary architect for all audio and production operations at OURChurch. The Tech Director works with the creative team and builds volunteer teams. They will also ensure that all weekend experiences and events are resourced and executed with the highest level of excellence. 

Purpose:
Produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This includes, but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, ensure all slides and lighting mix are prepared for the weekend, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey, and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the Experience. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Production

  • Stage/platform set up and management for weekly experiences/events. 

  • Microphone and input management-assigning mics/inputs to singers/band members. 

  • In-ear monitor system organization and management. 

  • Manage & maintain audio equipment.

  • Prepare all slides & lighting to coincide with the weekend experience.

  • Be proficient in live mixing and utilizing a sound board. 

2. Volunteer Team Management 

  • Recruit, train, develop & schedule volunteers for production team.

3. Stage Design 

  • Maintain a database of stage design looks, ideas, and designs. 

  • Prepare stage look options for presentation to Creative Team. 

  • Lead volunteer teams to strike and install new stage looks. 

4. Livestream

  • Working with the Creative Pastor toprepare and post weekend experiences to web and social media.

  • Strategize new and effective uses for service videos. 

5. Creative Idea Generation 

  • Attend and participate in bi-weekly Creative Team meetings and weekly staff meetings.

  • Provide assistance, input and ideas for special events, projects, videos, etc. 

  • Prepare with Worship Pastors plans, timelines, and budgets for stage design installations and stage refreshes taking place generally at: Conference, Christmas, New Year, and Easter.

6. Build Christ‐centered relationships with

  • OURChurch staff

  • OURChurch Dream Team 

  • OURChurch congregation


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in live audio production 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Experience in stage design including managing ideation, planning, and installation across the calendar year. 

  • Highly organized with detail and time management and leadership skills. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
The Tech Director must be a positive and hard-working person. A heart to collaborate and the ability to work under tight deadlines are necessary. Must have high integrity and the ability to give and receive feedback. The ability to hold confidential information is vital in this position. A “can do” spirit and a commitment to strong teamwork.
